TOKYO, May 27, 2013 - Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. (Hitachi Solutions) today announced that its Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System has been qualified under the Lync qualification program of Microsoft Corporation, as the first solution anywhere to be qualified in the Lync Extensibility Applications
category for Qualified Lync Applications. The Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System offers features for gathering and sharing information, adding value to the Microsoft Lync unified communication platform and offering compatibility and reliability with Lync. The solution currently supports five languages-Japanese, English, German, Italian, and French. The Lync qualification program helps ensure that products are configured and supported according to guidelines, based on an assessment of compatibility with Lync in addition to performance and reliability. Using solutions that meet these qualifications provides experience with unified communication that is consistent with Lync.
The Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System provides a user-friendly interface that integrates features such as Lync's presence information and audio/video conferencing. By making it easier to develop ideas and express oneself, this system elevates collaboration to another level.
"Lync makes it easy for enterprise collaboration, offering real-time and intuitive communications. The Hitachi Advance Collaboration System shows how partners can build on Lync to extend that collaborative communications experience," said Jon Morrow, Senior Program Manager for Lync, Microsoft Corp.
The qualification enables Hitachi Solutions to offer the Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System as a platform for enhanced collaboration to corporate clients that use Lync, which is making significant inroads with corporate users worldwide. Hitachi Solutions will capitalize on the opportunity by tapping into the market for advanced collaboration systems, as demand grows with the increasing globalization of corporate operations.
The Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System is grounded in a new concept to achieve a faster way of working than is possible with traditional remote conferencing tools. With the Hitachi Advanced Collaboration System alone, users can work on- or offline and organize their ideas by utilizing an easy-to-use whiteboard - the system's workspace - on which users can hand-write notes, or use virtual sticky notes. From the same screen, users can contact team members using Lync collaboration features, to join a discussion and facilitate rapid consensus formation. Users can access everything from a whiteboard and sticky notes to presence information, instant messaging, audio/video conferencing, and features that facilitate large meetings, all from one interface.
